We are working on a project on the “Street Names” of our village. We would like to make a log of both past and present street names in South Hylton.

The information we are looking for is:

1) Street Name.

2) Number of houses in that street (*).

3) Year that street was built.

4) If the street has been demolished - when.

5) Who built those houses.

6) Why do you think the street was so named?

(*) The number of houses stated for buildings still standing have been verified by Royal Mail’s Postcode Finder.
